My Teaching Philosophy
It is an educator’s job to inspire students to achieve their full potential and give them the tools they need to succeed in school and beyond. This includes building confidence on top of teaching curriculum that is relevant to the real world challenges students will face when they leave the classroom. In order to teach students the skills they need, it is essential to determine the skills they already possess and move them forward using regular classroom instruction as well as appropriate interventions. One important part of this is creating assessments that target specific standards from the Massachusetts Frameworks and analyzing the results. Another vital tool is the use of technology in the classroom. From Smartboards and document cameras to simple PowerPoint presentations, a teacher must be able to use technology to make lessons relevant and exciting. In addition to helping students master the curriculum, an educator is responsible for helping students meet with success on a daily basis. When students feel confident in the classroom, they are more likely to take academic risks and grow in their education. This is how to create a lifelong love for learning.
